October 2024 in Orlando is Shaping Up to Be a Pretty Good Weather Month
October is a great time to visit Walt Disney World, particularly if you like Halloween.
Halloween décor covers Magic Kingdom Park and other locations, plus more Disney festivities are in full swing in October. The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is under way in October and it is definitely worth a visit to sample a world of food and drink.
On a side note, Canadian Thanksgiving happens mid-month on October 14, so if you are visiting Walt Disney World at that time you may notice that it’s a bit more crowded than usual.
Weather Forecast for Walt Disney World in October 2024
The weather forecast for October 2024 at Walt Disney World looks like it’s going to be warmer than a typical Orlando October.
For October 2024, daytime highs for Walt Disney World are forecast to range from 79°F (26°C) to 88°F (31°C), while nighttime lows will hover around 66°F (19°C) to 73°F (23°C). This is a little cooler than September, but still very warm and pleasant for your Disney vacation.
Another positive is that there isn’t expected to be too much rain in the forecast. Of course, rain can be somewhat unpredictable in Orlando (especially with warmer temperatures), but October 2024 is looking to be a little drier than September.
The trend for the month of October in 2024 is to start out with temperatures on the warmer side and then cool very slightly as the month progresses. All in all, however, October 2024 is shaping up to be a very good weather month at Walt Disney World.
What to Pack for Walt Disney World in October 2024
Packing for Walt Disney World in October 2024 means packing for a warm weather vacation. The calendar may say fall, but the forecast says late summer. The nights will be slightly cool — but not cold — so you can still get away with packing relatively light this October.
With Halloween season being in full swing in October, go ahead pack a seasonal outfit, t-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie – if you have one. It’s the time of year to add a lit spooky fun to your packing. Evenings should be just cool enough on some days so that you won’t be too hot in a hoodie or sweatshirt once the sun goes down.
Of course, if you plan to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom Park, you may want to bring a costume to wear.
Beyond Halloween theming, it’s also fall, so fall-themed attire is another top pick for October at Walt Disney World.
For everyday park wear during the day in October, you can safely pack t-shirts, shorts, dresses and pretty much anything that you’d wear on a nice summer day. Evenings will be moderately cooler, so a hoodie or light jacket for after the sun goes down is also worth packing.
